In the foreground, a man in a white dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl and a long rudraksha mala holds a brass bell in his right hand and a brass oil lamp in his left, with white vibhuti marks on his forehead and arms. Behind him, a man in a saffron-orange shawl and rudraksha mala sits with a small brass lamp or incense vessel near his hands. Further left, a woman in orange sits beside him, and other lamp-holding devotees in white and orange appear in the background. A gold and red throne-like chair sits behind them, with warm lamplight on the scene. The ritual appears to be an aarti with oil lamps.2014-05-25A shaved-headed man in a rust-orange robe and a brown rudraksha mala draped over his shoulders looks upward while holding a long silver ceremonial handle that rises to a tiered silver lamp stand on the right, with multiple brass oil lamps on its tiers. He wears dark-framed glasses and has a white vibhuti mark on his forehead. He is bare-shouldered and seated in a cream-walled room with a light stand and camera equipment behind him.2014-01-13A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with maroon borders stands in the foreground holding up a tiered silver aarti lamp with multiple lit oil lamps, performing aarti. Behind him a seated congregation fills a wood-panelled hall with a patterned brown wall; many women wear white and cream saris, some in red and maroon. A woman in white at lower right presses her palms together in prayer, and a few devotees hold small lamps. The aarti lamp and white forehead markings are the clearest visible details. The man's appearance does not clearly match a person candidate, so he is described by role as a priest performing aarti.2012-09-05September 09 20122012-09-09A man with a shaved head and a small red bindi on his forehead holds a brass oil lamp with a tall flame, ringing a small brass bell in his right hand during a ritual. He wears an orange-saffron shawl draped over his bare upper body and a long rudraksha mala of beads around his neck, plus a beaded bracelet and a gold bangle. Behind him, seated devotees in white clothes with orange scarves watch, and a gold-brown curtain covers the wall. The ritual is an oil-lamp aarti. The face is not visibly distinctive enough to confirm identity from appearance, so the figure is described by role only.2012-08-21 +1 copies
