A photograph of a ritual fire in a wide metal bowl set on a rocky, sandy ground, with bright orange flames and rising smoke. To the right, a forearm in a rust-orange sleeve reaches toward the scene, holding a small stick near the fire. Nearby on the ground are a small brass bowl or dish, a plastic bag, a small yellow container and a few loose items. No people's faces are visible.

A photograph of a large dark metal bowl or vessel set on a rocky ground, holding a small flame in a shallow inner dish with a central mound and eight small cylindrical pieces arranged around it, with smoke rising. A green cloth and a yellow container appear at the edges, and a bird silhouette is faintly visible in the upper left. No people are visible in the frame.

A photograph taken outdoors on rocky ground showing a copper-rimmed fire bowl with a bright flame and rising smoke on the left. On a white cloth beside it are a small framed photograph, a brass bell or lamp, a small brass vessel and a plate. At lower right, the sleeve of a person in a saffron-orange garment with raised hands is partly visible. The scene suggests a small homa or fire offering, though the figure in the frame is only partly visible.

A photograph taken outdoors on a rocky hilltop overlooking a hazy green valley at sunrise. In the foreground a woman with dark hair pulled back, wearing a blue top and holding a string of beads, stands beside a bronze bowl-shaped fire vessel with a small flame and rising smoke. Small silver and gold containers and a lit lamp sit on the rock ledge in front. Dry grass and scattered orange wildflowers surround the boulders. The scene reads as a personal worship or homa offering at dawn.

A photograph of a Siddha purification process: a flat-bottomed metal vessel on a stone block holds glowing red embers beneath stacked dark cowdung cakes, with smoke rising. Behind it a wooden platform is dotted with red flower petals and a silver tray sits at the right edge. Blurred figures in rust-orange clothing are at the top left and top right, with hands visible at the top right; no faces are clearly shown. The scene depicts a homa-style fire with cowdung smoke used for purifying preparations.

A man sits cross-legged on a rocky outcrop among dry bare branches, eyes closed and palms pressed together in namaste at his chest. He wears a pale brown collared shirt and teal-blue trousers, with sunglasses resting on his head. Beside him a polished copper bowl sits on the stone, and a small yellow-and-green container lies at the lower right. The image has a soft blue-tinted glow and a faint overlay. A white copyright notice runs along the lower right corner.

Close overhead photograph of an aarti flame burning over a dark metal vessel on a grey stone floor. Tall orange flames rise and curl to the left, partly overlapping the rim of the dark round lamp, which holds a dark oily substance. At the right edge a brass or silver cup-shaped dish holds a small white wick or cotton piece. Specks of white powder. No people are visible.

A photograph of a ritual flame rising from a shallow lavender-coloured bowl set on a silver-coloured stand. The bowl holds a yellowish substance, possibly ghee or an offering, and a tall flame burns above it with smoke drifting upward. Behind it, a seated figure in orange-red clothing wears a long rudraksha mala and a silver-toned rod or staff is visible at right. A red thread is tied on the wrist of the arm reaching toward the bowl. Warm orange light and red fabrics fill the background.
