September 15 20152015-09-15A photograph of a seated group on colourful striped woven mats in a tent-like gathering at a Kumbh-type camp. In the centre, a young man in white dhoti and white shirt with a beaded necklace has his eyes covered by his hands, while a woman in a red patterned shawl and white top, wearing glasses and a forehead mark, touches his head. Beside them a young boy in a yellow and red garment and beaded garlands watches. Behind, a man in a saffron-orange robe with a head covering and a bearded elder in an orange-yellow turban sit close by. Other seated devotees wear white, orange and saffron clothing, with bags on the floor in the foreground. A tall figure in saffron robes in the background looks on, and the setting suggests a blindfolded initiation or practice session.2015-09-19September 18 20152015-09-18July 26 20152015-07-26A photograph of a seated figure in an orange-red robe with a white forehead band and a white and red flower garland, hands pressed together in namaskar. A man in a white shirt bends over and reaches toward the figure's head, possibly applying a blessing or tilak. Behind them, people in white dhotis and white kurtas wearing rudraksha malas stand near a striped woven mat and a garlanded seat, with a yellow-clad attendant at the right edge. The setting appears to be a temple interior at night with a framed picture on the wall. The seated figure has no visible long hair, crown or ceremonial gold ornaments, so the appearance does not qualify as a person candidate; the figure is described by role as a devotee receiving blessing.2009-07-13June 24 20142014-06-24 +2 copiesA seated group ceremony with many people sitting on colourful striped mats. In the foreground a man in a white shirt and grey trousers kneels and places his hands on the head of a child wearing a black blindfold; the child wears an orange cloth. Several children in orange or saffron cloths sit around, some with white ash stripes on their bodies and one with a blindfold. A man on the left wears a rudraksha mala, eyeglasses and white clothes with a gold-bordered cloth. Other attendees wear white and yellow-bordered dhotis, and a woman with white hair sits in white at right. Behind them are more seated devotees and a wall with wooden chairs.2017-07-08A nighttime homa or fire ritual at an open-air ashram space. At centre, a bright fire burns in a brick-lined fire pit, with flower garlands and offering plates in front. A bare-chested man in a white dhoti with a rudraksha mala stands at the right of the fire, his arms raised toward a small boy in a white cloth who holds a ritual stick. A woman in a red-orange sari with a flower garland helps guide the boy's hand. Seated priests in white and yellow cloths assist at the fire, and standing devotees in white fill the background. Green leaf plates hold fruit and offerings at lower left, and a red painted wall and palm fronds frame the scene.2016-03-06 +1 copiesMay 14 20132013-05-14February 15 20172017-02-15December 22 20102010-12-22February 15 20172017-02-15
