Annadhan in 20132013-01-01Photograph of a large pink-walled hall where rows of people in saffron and orange robes sit on the floor in a long line, with a second group of seated monastic men in orange robes facing the same direction near the front. Steel vessels with food, covered with banana leaves, sit on striped red, green and blue mats in front of the seated women, along with steel plates, bowls and tumblers. On the right, a woman in a deep red sari stands beside a green-cushioned seat and a standing fan. At the far end, a man in white stands near a draped orange cloth and a decorated altar area. Colourful striped tassels hang from the ceiling and a small banner of the bird-logo style appears in the upper left corner. Several people in white clothes stand at the back of the hall.2013-07-14January 08 20182018-01-08March 30 20162016-03-30A long row of seated devotees in saffron-orange and rust-red garments sits on the floor of a hall, palms pressed together in prayer. In front of each seated person is a banana leaf set with food and a steel cup, and rows of small paper cups line the floor. A standing man in white clothing and a white cap, holding a tray or plate, stands at the back, and more people in white and orange sit along the far wall. Lamps hang from the ceiling.2013-11-14Annadhan in 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesNovember 10 20132013-11-10 +1 copiesAnnadhan in 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesAnnadhan during Allahabad Kumbhamela 20132013-01-01 +1 copiesA large tented hall with white draped walls, hanging lanterns and striped mats, where long rows of seated people in orange and rust-coloured robes with rudraksha malas share a meal from leaf plates and small cups. Women in orange saris and monastic-style clothing sit in the foreground, some with kumkum or vibhuti on their foreheads. Standing attendants in white and orange move along the rows, while colourful parasols line the hall. A projection screen at the back shows a figure in white. This appears to be a food offering or annadan style gathering during a puja programme.2016-12-18A large hall filled with rows of seated devotees in saffron-orange clothing, many women with long braided hair and bright orange saris, others in orange kurtas and turbans, all seated on the floor before green banana leaves holding food and steel tumblers. Rolled mats and patterned floor covers run along the rows. At the far end of the hall, a golden ornate throne-like seat stands before a red-draped stage, with a person in orange seated near it. Framed artwork hangs on the pale walls, and a video camera on a tripod records the gathering. The scene suggests a communal meal served during a festival.2017-08-14A photograph of many women seated cross-legged in rows on the floor of a hall, wearing rust-orange and saffron sannyasini robes with yellow borders and rudraksha malas, with some having white tilak markings on their foreheads. In front of them are long green banana-leaf plates set on the floor, loaded with rice and food, with small white cups of liquid beside them. Several seated women have their hands folded or are placing food. Background devotees in orange and red clothing sit further back in a bright, pale-walled room.2016-08-02
