On the right, a large black figure with a red and white skull-patterned garment, bared fangs and a red tongue, stands on rocks beside a painted waterfall, identified as a deity murti of Kali-like form. A large painted portrait on the left wall shows a smiling man with long dark hair, a red bindi and a rudraksha mala, dressed in white; the portrait is painted, so it is a depiction. In front of a painted backdrop, a tiered shrine with a domed roof, pink and blue pillars, and fairy lights and pink ribbons holds a small statue of a seated figure in orange robes and an orange turban. Below it stands a statue of Ganesha with an orange headdress, garlanded in white flowers, beside a seated figure in white and a standing figure in red with a white shawl. Brass oil lamps, a kalasha-style brass vessel, flower garlands, fruits, sweets, a basket of marigolds and a coconut-like offering are arranged on the floor and on white cloths, marking a Vinayaka Chaturthi puja. In the centre, a small pink-and-blue painted shrine houses a seated figure in orange robes, long black hair and a red mala, holding a staff, flanked by brass pillars. Below, two orange-robed figures, one in an orange turban and white floral garland and one with long hair and a mala, stand before offerings of flowers, a brass kalasha-style lamp, printed pamphlets and a silver container. Beside him a bare-chested man in a white dhoti and a white sacred thread looks on. At far right a partly visible man in white gestures toward the paintings. The mural panels depict Hindu epic scenes: a figure with a golden crown and blue skin embraced by a forest-dwelling pair in a cave, a bow-wielding blue-skinned hero with a winged attendant beside a palace, and a group of figures in saffron dhotis before a thatched hut. Warm orange drapery and pillars frame the left edge.2006-11-10A photograph inside a temple corridor looking toward a doorway, where painted backdrops of a forest river gorge with palm trees frame a diorama of colourful painted wooden figures. Central figures include a blue-faced deity in pink and yellow garments with a crown and red garlands, and a dark-haired female figure with a red garland in the foreground. A mirror reflects the scene at the far end. No living people are visible.2006-01-07A festival puja display set against a painted wall mural.
