A photograph of a deity murti or decorated seated figure adorned for worship. The figure is draped in a purple silk garment with gold-thread embroidery and red-and-gold beaded trim, wearing a jeweled golden crown-like ornament set with blue and dark gemstones. Heavy garlands of white jasmine and red roses encircle the head and shoulders, with green leaves and a sheaf of grass. Behind it are golden kalasha-like vessels, a brass oil lamp with a lit flame at right, and a tray of offerings with flowers. The setting suggests puja or abhishekam decoration. No physical people are clearly visible apart from a blurred figure in white at the upper right edge.

A photograph of a Shiva lingam heavily adorned with garlands of white jasmine, red and pink flowers, and yellow and red marigold strings, with purple flower bunches and a trident leaning against it. Behind, a man with a white tilak on his forehead and hands joined in namaskar stands among other devotees, one holding a silver staff, in a temple setting with banana leaves. A brass oil lamp sits at lower left among rose petals. This appears to be a flower-decorated puja at a Shiva temple.

Close photo of a ritual in progress. A priest's hand holds a lit oil lamp with a flame, beside a cluster of jasmine and marigold garlands mixed with red flowers and dried grass stalks. The priest wears gold-bead necklaces and bangles, with a red and gold cloth draped over the shoulder. In the foreground, the shoulder and head of another person are partly visible. The background shows red and gold textiles. The scene suggests a puja with garlands and an oil lamp.

Close view of a ritual being performed beside a large garland of white and yellow flowers with red blossoms, threaded with dried grass stalks. A priest in a gold-bordered orange-red shawl and white garment holds a silver oil lamp with a lit flame and offering items, wearing a beaded necklace of gold-toned and dark beads and a bangle. Only his hands, shoulder and torso are visible, with a blurred foreground figure. Behind the garland is an ornate golden-bordered cloth and a red and purple patterned backdrop.

A photograph of a ceremonial procession or ritual display at a temple event. Centre frame is a large garland of white jasmine flowers draped over a decorated object with two ornate silver-and-pink ceremonial staffs or tridents rising on either side. Flanking it are arrangements of yellow and red roses, purple flowers, and pink and white lotus-like blooms with green leaves. Behind the offerings, a crowd of people stands watching; a man in white at left and a woman with glasses at left-centre are visible, and at right a person with yellow-orange tilak on the forehead appears. Several other people are partially visible in the background, making the total visible count roughly six to twenty.

Photograph of a festival setting with two large decorated statues dressed in garlands of white jasmine, yellow marigold and red flowers. The statue on the right wears an orange turban and ornate gold-and-embroidered attire, with one hand raised. Beside them stands a smaller figure wrapped in purple and gold cloth, adorned with white flowers. In front lies a brass oil lamp with a lit flame on a wooden stand, with a red and gold embroidered cloth draped over a low table behind. Green carpet covers the stage floor, and a few people in white and casual clothes move in the background, with plastic chairs and tables visible. These are statues and deity murti, not living people.

A photograph, rotated sideways, of a richly decorated ritual object heaped with garlands of marigolds, red roses, white flowers and green leaves, with pink petals scattered across it. A golden ornamented plate or vessel sits at the right, and a brass oil lamp with a lit flame is at the upper left beside coconut halves, fruits and a small sacred thread. No people are visible in the scene; the image shows only the floral-adorned object and offerings.
