A photograph from behind a large crowd of devotees in white clothing at an indoor hall, many with raised arms during an Inner Awakening darshan. A red and gold ornate figure of a deity murti sits on a raised platform at the far end, backed by a dark mountain-and-sky backdrop with purple light. Overhead hang crystal chandeliers and a banner reading Inner Awakening. Most visible people wear white and cream saris, dhotis and kurtas; a girl in a pink floral dress and a boy in a white shirt stand near the front. No clearly identifiable a person figure is visible among the people, and the platform figure is a deity murti.2015-05-07May 07 20152015-05-07December 02 20162016-12-02 +2 copiesA crowd of devotees in white clothing with orange-red satsang beads stands in a hall with dark red walls, many with raised arms and hands folded in greeting. A man in the foreground wears a dark red shawl and holds a small bouquet of red and yellow flowers, while another man near the front has a white forehead mark and holds an orange flower. On the altar stands a deity murti draped in garlands, flanked by golden lion-like figures, with marigold and flower offerings and a small golden kalasha-style lamp at the front. Above it hangs a colourful umbrella-shaped canopy and a reflective silver backdrop. On the right, several orange-robed sannyasis and white-clad priests stand near a microphone. The scene appears to be a devotional celebration or darshan with worshippers in ecstatic prayer.2012-12-17December 23 20082008-12-23A dense, motion-blurred crowd of devotees fills a tented hall during a celebration. Many people wear white and cream clothing, while a cluster of sannyasis in saffron/orange robes stands near the centre, some with arms raised. Women have hair in long braids and wear yellow and orange blouses. Decorative cloth banners with bright geometric patterns hang from the tent poles. At the back, a richly decorated golden throne with a red cushion and a golden canopy sits on a stage beside a maroon curtain, with floral offerings and a deity or garlanded seat in front. The scene appears to be a festive darshan or procession gathering.2008-12-23December 24 20152015-12-24A photograph of a large hall with many devotees standing with raised arms, facing a projection screen. Most wear white clothes and red lanyards around their necks. On the screen, a figure in red stands with arms raised before a glowing golden dais under a green-blue night scene. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and a bald man in a plaid shirt and khaki trousers stands in the foreground with his arms up. Visible people are numerous, with over twenty individuals in view. No candidate for a person is clearly identifiable in the physical crowd, and the figure on screen is too small and indistinct to assess.2015-05-07A large crowd of devotees dressed in white fills a tent hall decorated with orange and yellow bunting, ceiling fans and hanging lights. Many attendees have raised arms and are clapping or swaying. At the far end, a raised stage hung with yellow and red drapery and floral garlands holds a white-cushioned seat with a figure in light clothing at the centre, flanked by a standing person in white on the right. Framed portraits and marigold garlands decorate the stage, and speakers stand at the sides of the hall.A large crowd of devotees fills a white-canopied hall during a satsang or yoga session, many with raised hands and palms pressed together. Most participants wear white and light-coloured clothing, with some in darker tops. A figure near the centre, wearing a dark cap, stands above the crowd, possibly on the stage, while the upper corners show bright video screens. Gold-patterned wall panels line the back of the hall. The scene conveys a collective gesture of devotion during a programme session.2015-12-23
