A dense crowd of devotees in a dim hall raises their arms and hands toward the ceiling in an ecstatic gesture. Most wear white clothing, with orange and saffron shawls and lanyards visible among them. At centre, a woman in an orange sari and gold jewellery smiles while lifting a large ornate golden object, possibly a deity murti or decorative frame. Many of the crowd appear to be in satsang or devotional celebration. Gold ornaments and bright hand gestures stand out against the darker background.2015-12-24December 24 20152015-12-24December 23 20152015-12-23December 23 20152015-12-23A dense crowd of devotees at a Shuddhadvaitam gathering in Ujjain, many in white kurtas and white dhotis with orange or saffron shawls and orange headcloths. Several men raise clenched fists or hands in the air, others press palms together in anjali, and some wear beaded rudraksha malas and bangles. Faces are close together and the scene is packed tightly with participants shouting, chanting and celebrating.2016-05-06December 23 20152015-12-23A crowd of devotees in a large hall raises their arms and hands upward, many clapping and reaching toward a central seated figure. The central man sits on an ornate brown throne with gold carved trim and wears a saffron-and-red shawl over a gold-embellished garment, with dark swept-back hair and a rudraksha mala. Around him, devotees wear white clothing with orange and saffron stoles and lanyard badges, and a woman on the right wears a red-and-orange sari. The image is a photograph of a satsang-style gathering, and the page is consistent with a Nithyanandoham session, though no readable caption confirms this. The central figure matches the appearance of a person, with long swept hair, ornate gold-trimmed clothing and a throne, so a person is noted here in the description.2015-12-24September 27 20162016-09-27A large crowd of devotees in a hall raises their open hands upward toward a central figure. A man in an orange-saffron robe with a red-orange turban stands near the centre, seated or standing behind a dark wooden lectern-like object, with a shorter devotee in white kurta nearby. A tall silver trishul stands at left among the crowd, and a television screen shows a video feed in the upper left. Many attendees wear white, cream, orange, and red clothing; some wear rudraksha-style beads and bangles. The atmosphere suggests darshan or satsang with collective upturned-hand devotion.2015-12-23A dense crowd of devotees in white ritual clothing at a Shuddhadvaitam event in Ujjain. Many people raise their hands and clap, some with palms pressed together in devotion. Several wear orange or saffron head cloths and rudraksha or beaded necklaces, and many wrap bangles and wristbands on their arms. Faces are close together and partially cropped at the edges, with a few foreheads marked with tilak. The atmosphere is one of collective devotional singing and chanting.2016-05-06December 21 20152015-12-21A photograph of a crowded devotional procession or kirtan in a hall with a light-coloured tiled floor. Many participants raise their open hands and arms overhead, chanting or singing in ecstatic devotion. A bare-chested man in the centre wears an orange-saffron dhoti with a gold-bordered cloth, a long rudraksha-style mala and a white forehead mark. Men in white dhotis and white shirts and a man in a red and white shawl appear behind, and women in saffron, orange and purple saris are in the foreground. Framed portraits and decorative umbrellas are visible on the right wall. No single person is clearly identifiable as the a person in this crowd.2016-10-03
