A brightly illuminated decorated ratha/chariot with a multicoloured canopy and carved figures stands behind the procession, with a deity murti seated under it. In the foreground, a bearded man in a maroon robe with a long gold necklace and a white flower garland stands between two men in orange-red dhotis, who hold a silver staff with a small white flag and a silver ceremonial staff. The men on either side have bare upper bodies with white ash markings and rudraksha beads. Each cart carries a bull vahana: the left one white and silver, the right one gold, both draped with garlands in red, yellow, white and purple. Above them are arched canopies with gold and multicoloured borders, and a deity murti is seated within each arch. A single person in white traditional dhoti and shawl stands at the lower left, holding a lit lamp or torch aloft. Golden panels with relief figures decorate the cart bases. The scene is lit by floodlights, with blue fairy lights visible at the left.2017-03-02Night procession on a stone-paved path lit by warm lamps. A central man in a maroon-brown robe wears a pink-and-white flower garland, a gold pendant, a rudraksha mala and a white forehead band, and carries a silver-tipped staff. Behind him stands an illuminated golden chariot with a multicoloured fringed canopy and a deity murti under an arch. Two saffron-clad attendants flank the procession: a woman on the left holds a silver staff with a flag, and a man on the right wears a rudraksha mala and white body markings. Women in grey and green saris and a man in orange walk behind, some with hands folded in devotion. The man in the centre has long hair and a beard and his appearance is not clearly distinctive enough to confirm identity, so he is described by role only.2017-02-09March 02 20172017-03-02October 06 20112011-10-06Night photo of two ornate golden processional carts (ratha) with decorated arched canopies draped in multicoloured flower garlands.
