Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with aerial roots, backlit by low sun. A bald man in white dhoti and shawl stands center, holding a lit oil lamp or flame toward a woman in an orange sari, who holds a small flame in her hands. To the left, a woman in a maroon sari and a man in white kurta with an orange shawl stand near the edge of the frame. At right, a stone lingam or deity murti is draped with garlands of red, white and yellow flowers and metal ornaments, set in a circular stone base with offerings. The scene suggests a ritual puja at the tree.

Outdoor evening scene beneath a large banyan tree at dusk. A bald, bearded man in white dhoti and shawl holds a flaming lamp or aarti flame toward a silver-coloured deity murti decorated with multicoloured garlands. Beside him a saffron-robed sannyasi with his hands joined stands in devotion. To the left, three devotees stand with hands folded: a man in white, a woman in a magenta sari, and a woman in an orange-and-black sari, one holding a white bag. Items on a green mat and a silver plate sit in front of the murti, a red-and-white garland draped over the base. Hanging white threads and tassels frame the upper left.

In the foreground, a man in plain white dhoti and shawl stands barefoot with palms pressed together in namaskar, a beaded necklace around his neck. Further back, another person in white stands with hands folded near a pillar. On the right, a black stone deity murti is draped in white cloth and garlanded with yellow marigolds, red and purple flowers, and a green leaf garland. Its base is smeared with bright red pigment, and in front sits a small stone table holding a brass lamp, a bowl and offerings. Sand-coloured ground has white rangoli designs.
