No people are visible.2006-09-29 +1 copiesA top-down view of many small shallow leaf plates arranged in rows on a woven striped mat, each holding a different dried herb, seed, bark piece, root, flower, powder or mineral. Dozens of small brass bowls are arranged in a large triangular pattern filled with grains, seeds, dried leaves, powders and small stones, with a red-powder bowl at the lower left. Trays of dried twigs, white shell-like pieces and yellow grains sit at the left edge, and a wooden stand holds metal vessels and a brass lamp. A figure in orange robes is seated behind the arrangement, with a white-clothed person partly visible at the top left. A rock wall glows warm at the left, and a small clear-glass lamp sits on the floor. Such arrangements suggest a homa or tharpanam offering.2009-07-01A photograph of a homa ritual setup on a blue tarpaulin. Rows of small hexagonal leaf-plate bowls hold dried herbs, roots, seeds, bark pieces and grains arranged in a large grid. A brass plate holds a mango leaf cluster around a coconut-like fruit placed on white grain. Behind them, brass bowls hold oil and offerings, a bundle of wooden sticks lies in the middle, and a carved wooden stand sits at right. At the top left, a person in white clothing with an orange-edged garment sits on the cloth, with only hands and lap visible. No other people are visible.2006-09-21Photograph of a table covered with rows of disposable round palm-leaf plates holding dried herbs, roots, bark pieces, seeds, petals and powdered spices in browns, greens, reds and yellows. A metal coin lies at the lower edge, and a red and white woven cloth and a white sack appear in the background. No people are visible.2017-04-28Close view of many small brass or gold-toned plates arranged in neat rows on a red and green cloth, each holding a small mound of offerings such as grains, seeds, pebbles, flower or leaf bits and possibly sweets. No people are visible; the rows of plates suggest a ritual offering arrangement in a temple or ashram setting. A faint purple logo appears in the upper left corner.2009-12-24Photograph of many shallow disposable leaf plates filled with homa offering materials laid out on a grey paved ground.
