A photograph of a crowded queue of men and some women waiting outdoors in bright daylight. In the foreground, an older man with a white-grey beard wears a pink-and-white head wrap and a white open-collared shirt, with a hand on his shoulder from a younger man in a light blue shirt behind him. To the right, a man in a light blue striped shirt and checked lungi stands close to the camera, and others in white and blue shirts and lungis stand behind them. A woman in a blue sari stands at the left edge, and a white-and-green plastic bag is visible.

In the foreground a young boy in a red and black checked shirt and dark trousers stands barefoot near the threshold, facing the queue. Men in white shirts and checked lungis stand at the left, a shirtless man in a pink-checked cloth stands centre, and a young man in a beige T-shirt and dark shorts stands behind them. Women in salwar kameez, one in blue and white and another in a pink and blue checked shawl, stand further back. Sandals are scattered along the edge of the path, and a striped pillar and green trees frame the scene.2019-08-18Night photograph of a dense crowd of men at an outdoor evening gathering under bright floodlights and a dark sky. Most wear white shirts and white dhotis; one man in the foreground on the right wears a light-coloured headcloth and a dark wrap, and another in the left foreground wears a checked shirt and a beaded mala. Several men hold long wooden poles or staves, and a small figure carrying a green-and-orange cloth bundle is raised above the crowd on the right. An orange-painted boundary wall and trees sit behind the crowd. No individual is identifiable as a person from the visible cues.2012-01-08A dense crowd of men, women and children packs an open outdoor area under a tin-roofed canopy, many pressing forward with raised hands and phones. In the foreground a shaved-headed priest in white with a saffron-and-gold bordered cloth and a rudraksha mala stands at the bottom edge, while a man in a white shirt and a man in a checked pink shirt with a rudraksha mala guide the crowd. Elderly women in white and blue saris stand at right. Many people wear white dhotis and shirts; a young woman in an orange top stands in the upper centre. No single figure is clearly identifiable as a person, so the scene is recorded only by roles and actions.2011-05-17Photo 8277633 +2 copiesA photograph of a crowd of men queuing outdoors beneath a tented food stall with striped bunting in red, green, yellow, purple and blue. Many men wear white dhotis and white shirts, while others wear checked or striped shirts and trousers. Palm fronds and wooden poles frame the stall, and a Tamil-language sign hangs at the top left. A forested hill rises in the background, and a man in the foreground holds a white plastic bag. No recognisable a person figure is visible, so the scene shows only devotees waiting for annadan-style food distribution.2012-11-27January 21 20092009-01-21
