In the centre, a large cutout board depicts a smiling guru figure in red robes, a red-orange turban, yellow and orange flower garlands and a red shawl, seated and raising one hand. Beside it, a woman in a white sari with a yellow blouse holds the cutout's arm, and another woman in a white sari with a white forehead mark smiles behind it. On the right, a young woman in a white sari with a dark blue and gold border holds a brass tray of yellow flowers, green leaves and a small lamp. Figures in white clothing appear at the left edge, and a maroon door with a gold ornament is on the right.April 25 20202020-04-25December 30 20062006-12-30 +1 copiesA woman in a white kurta with a hair bun, wearing a white face mask and a rudraksha-style mala, stands with palms pressed together in namaste before a large life-size printed portrait on a counter. The portrait shows a smiling figure in a red turban and orange-red robes, seated in a meditative pose with raised palms and a red bindi, wearing a dense garland of beads and white flowers; he is a depiction, not a physical person. Scattered white jasmine-like flowers lie on the stone counter beside a black bag, and tiled walls and recessed ceiling lights surround the space.2022-05-28 +1 copiesKAILASA LOS ANGELES, USA on 7/4/20202020-07-04A photo inside a covered hall with corrugated metal walls and ceiling fans. In the centre, a bald, bespectacled man with a bare chest wears a white dhoti with gold border and rudraksha malas, holding a woven basket with a leaf and offering. To his left, a man in white dhoti holds a cutout standee of a smiling figure in pink and orange clothing, an orange turban, and a garland of white jasmine, pink and red flowers, and green leaves. Two women in white saris with gold borders stand at either side, one holding a basket of flowers and the other a basket of fruit including oranges, apples and bananas. Rudraksha malas hang around their necks. Onlookers stand in the background.2022-04-17A photograph of three people performing a puja outdoors under a corrugated metal shelter beside a large tree trunk. A bare-chested man in a white dhoti with a patterned border and a rudraksha mala stands at left, holding a small object. Two women face the altar: one in an orange saree and one in a rust-red saree, the rust-red saree figure extending a hand toward a cut-out figure. A large standing cut-out portrait of a seated figure in saffron-orange robes, with a crown-like headdress, a garland, gold necklaces and raised hand, stands on an ornate stone pedestal. In front is a brass plate with banana, coconut halves and fruit on a colourful cloth, plus a small brass lamp and kalasha. Concrete block walls and dry ground surround the scene.2019-03-25
