A dense outdoor crowd surges around a dark car on a street, with many men pressing forward holding up phones and cameras. Two large banners are raised above them: the left one shows a smiling man in an orange turban with a red bindi, and the right, yellow banner shows a smaller portrait of a similarly turbaned, smiling figure in orange within a circular frame. Several shaved-headed men in saffron-orange robes stand among the crowd, along with men in white shirts and dhotis and a man in a white kurta with a red shawl. A uniformed police officer stands near the car. A blue building marked No. 1 and trees are in the background. The banners carry printed Tamil text and the name a person on the yellow banner.

A central figure in an orange-saffron robe with a matching orange garland and long dark hair stands out above the crowd, with hands raised and a smiling expression. Around him, many men in white shirts and white dhotis, some with yellow shawls and orange cloth, reach toward him and clap or wave. Several bald and white-clad attendants move nearby. Behind the crowd, large banners with portraits and printed Tamil text hang from poles and a small pale structure is visible. Some people wear vibhuti and red tilak marks. The central figure has long dark hair, orange robes and a garland, which is a probable Swamiji appearance cue.2010-12-29Photo 11687433July 01 20142014-07-01Outdoor street photograph of a crowd pressing around a silver car during a ratha yatra procession in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu.
