August 10 20112011-08-10A young man with a shaved head, white forehead tilak and a gold chain with red-brown bordered white dhoti sits on an ornate gold-leafed throne with floral carved backrest. Beside him, a man in white kurta and white trousers bends forward and touches his shoulder with folded hands, a devotee offering respect. Behind them, a bald man in a light shirt stands near an open cream door with a 'NO ADMISSION' sign, and a red-cushioned low table with a yellow marigold garland sits in the foreground. Orange-painted walls frame the scene.2010-09-28A photograph in an orange-walled courtyard beside an open cream door marked NO ADMISSION. A seated man on an ornate gold throne with carved lion-head arms wears a white dhoti with a maroon border, a gold chain, and white ash markings on his forehead and arms; he holds a small brass bowl and gestures with his right hand. Facing him, a bald standing man in a white short-sleeved shirt and white trousers bends forward with hands clasped, listening. A red cushion and a yellow marigold garland sit in the foreground on a red cloth. Because the page names a morning paduka puja and the seated figure's cues are distinctive, the seated figure is a person by appearance: long swept-back hair is not shown, but the throne, saffron-and-gold ceremonial dress is absent, so identification is uncertain.2010-09-28May 13 20142014-05-13A shaved-headed man in white ritual dhoti and shawl with red borders sits on an ornate gold throne with a red cushion, wearing a long gold-beaded necklace with a pendant. He has white tilak marks on his forehead and arms and is gesturing with one hand toward a wooden book stand holding an open book. Gold lion-shaped armrests and a gold-and-red stand with a small brass lamp sit in front of the throne, on an orange cloth. Behind him are an orange curtain, a staircase with red railings, potted plants and a carved stone pillar. The man is a priest or sannyasi and the page does not give a clear visual identification, so the appearance is uncertain.2011-08-10April AF 2012April 15 20122012-04-15A photograph inside a temple hall. A long-haired man in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha mala necklace, bracelets and a forehead tilak sits on an ornate gold throne with red cushions. A man in white clothes, with grey hair, kneels and bows toward him, while another man in a patterned shirt stands at the right. Behind the throne a red and yellow flag hangs, and a brass kalasha-like vessel with white powder sits on the floor in front. Swamiji (probable): the seated figure has long hair, a crown-like headband, saffron robes and rudraksha malas, matching the page description of a visit to the throne.2012-05-13A seated man in a yellow-orange dhoti-style wrap with red border sits on an ornate gold throne with red velvet cushions, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a red tilak on his forehead. Facing him from the left, a bald man in a white shirt sits with his back to the camera, watching. Gold carved panels and a red striped cushion decorate the throne, with offerings on the red-draped platform below. The seated man is a person by appearance cues: rudraksha mala, saffron-yellow clothing and a throne setting, though the appearance is not fully certain.2011-11-24May 18 20172017-05-18Photo of a ceremonial initiation on an ornate golden throne with carved red-and-gold backdrop. A seated figure in red robes with a rudraksha mala and a red bindi holds a silver trident-like staff and touches the shaved head of a kneeling initiate in white and gold cloth with a beaded necklace and white ash markings on his arms. A microphone stand is visible at right. a person (seated figure with red robes, rudraksha mala and swept-back dark hair) performing an initiation blessing.2016-04-22August 27 20142014-08-27 +1 copies
