A dark stone deity murti stands in a carved grey stone arch, draped with a white cloth and garlanded with bands of yellow and red flowers and a rope of yellow blooms. At its base is a mound of red-painted stones with a small black shivalingam-like stone decorated with a yellow flower garland. In the foreground a person in an orange shawl stands facing the shrine with hands together. Several more people in white dhotis and orange shawls stand to the right, and a striped pole rises at the edge of the frame.2006-12-26May 14 20062006-05-14April 19 20062006-04-19August 11 20052005-08-11November 18 20102010-11-18A photograph taken outdoors beneath a large spreading tree. The murti is a seated black stone figure draped in a white dhoti and shawl, wearing a white headpiece and a yellow and red flower garland; it sits within an ornate silver arch carved with foliage and a makara motif on a red painted stone base. Nearby on the ground is a black lingam with a yellow marigold garland, and a white and grey serpent form curls at the base. A hand holding a lamp appears at the lower right. The scene is a shrine setting with flowers and oil lamps.2006-12-26October 07 20062006-10-07Outdoor photograph of a shrine under tall trees. A white stone arched torana frames a white and black seated murti decorated with orange and pink garlands, with a red-painted rock mound and tiled circular platform at its base. To the right, a person in a flowing saffron-orange robe with long dark hair stands barefoot beside a pole, one hand extended toward the shrine. Dry leaves lie on the paved ground and a small altar sits at the left edge.December 11 20062006-12-11A barefoot man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl stands with palms pressed together in namaskar before an outdoor shrine under trees. Behind him, a black stone deity murti seated on a pedestal wears a yellow cloth and yellow flower garlands, framed by a white arched stone niche with a green backdrop. In front of the murti, a large mound of red offerings, possibly kumkum or red flowers, sits on a black-and-white bordered platform. The man has a tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha-style mala at his neck; he is not identifiable from the image, so his role is that of a devotee.2011-09-06 +1 copies
