Close view of a split reddish-brown and white pipe-like post set upright into reddish earth, with a dark slit running down its length and a smear of orange-red paste near the top. Scattered pink rose petals and whole pink roses lie on the soil around its base, with a small coin-like disc and loose grit nearby. A pink and white fabric edge appears at the upper left corner. No people are visible; the scene is a ground-level still life of an offering site.

Yellow-painted bricks, some marked with red kumkum dots and scattered rose petals, line a square excavation around a white-and-red painted wooden pole standing upright in the centre. Bare feet of people in maroon and rust-coloured robes stand at the top edge, with a pink and green cloth mat in the foreground and a pile of reddish earth at right. No faces are visible, and the scene shows a foundation rite rather than a named event.2017-10-01October 01 20172017-10-01July 08 20092009-07-08 +1 copiesOutdoor ritual on a paved courtyard with a striped cloth mat. A man in a deep red-brown dhoti with a pink and white flower garland and gold pendant stands centre, holding a long curved blade over a shallow stone-lined square pit containing red flower petals. A young person in orange robes kneels at left, reaching toward the pit, while an orange-clothed attendant at right holds the blade's handle. A green coconut sits on the mat beside a small tray of offerings. Orange-robed people and a row of children in red and orange stand in the background near a red pillar. The scene resembles a ritual offering with a pit, though the specific rite is not clear.2017-10-01Outdoors on bare dirt, four men perform a ground ritual around a tall white-and-red striped wooden pole set into a decorated base of coloured powder rangoli with scattered pink flower petals. On the left, a man in white dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala crouches and digs with a long stick. Next to him, a seated man in orange with a rudraksha mala tends the base. A third man in orange kneels beside the pole. On the right, a man with long swept-back dark hair, bare-chested except for a maroon garment, with a dark shawl draped over his shoulder, grips the pole with both hands. Yellow brick pavers line the foreground, and bamboo and greenery fill the background.2016-10-06Close-up photograph of a white lingam, a Shiva linga, standing on a mound of white powder with a red kumkum mark on its front and pink roses with green leaves placed on top and at its base. Behind it, a draped deep red cloth with gold border and a gold ornamental object appear softly out of focus, lit with warm pink and gold light. A long thin rod or staff is visible at the upper left.
