A man with long, swept-back black hair and an orange saffron shawl holds a brass oil lamp with a bright flame in both hands, speaking as he performs an aarti. He wears a white and green flower garland and a red bindi on his forehead. Behind him, people in orange and white robes stand in a plain hall with fluorescent tube lights and a pillar. A cameraman with a raised camera is visible at right. The long hair, orange shawl and ceremonial garland are compatible with a person officiating the lamp ritual at a temple-style event.2006-09-23September 23 20062006-09-23A photograph of a long-haired man in an orange saffron garment wearing multiple garlands of white jasmine, yellow marigolds, red roses and green leaves. He holds a brass aarti lamp with a flame and smoke rising from it, and a brass bell in his other hand, during a ritual. A white corrugated roof and blue sky form the background. Given the page's Swamiji flag and his long hair, orange clothing and garlands, this appears to be Swamiji (probable), performing aarti as a priest at the ceremony.2009-12-23July 07 20092009-07-07July 21 20102010-07-21A man with long, wavy black hair and a red bindi wears a saffron-orange sleeveless wrap and a long gold bead necklace, standing at a brass oil lamp with several lit wicks and white flower garland on top, lighting it with his hands. Behind him a banner reads partially in large letters 'Nithya' and 'YANA' and 'LAU' and 'OWERM', and a faded portrait of a smiling man with a bindi appears at left. Another person's hands and arm are visible at right, and a white cooler sits at lower right. Probable Swamiji cues: long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and ornate gold bead necklace, in the role of a presenter lighting an oil lamp. The image shows a lamp-lighting ritual at an indoor event.2009-09-15A man with long, dark, swept-back hair stands under a decorated canopy hung with marigold, yellow and red garlands. He wears an orange-saffron robe with a gold-bordered shawl and a white and red flower garland around his neck, and holds a lit oil lamp in a small metal dish with a flame. To the right, another man in a dark shirt holds a silver bowl. Green banana leaves and a striped tent roof are visible behind. The appearance matches the Swamiji cues of long hair, saffron clothing and garlands, and the page indicates he is present, so this is a probable identification in an aarti-style offering at a celebration.2007-01-01December 23 20092009-12-23A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a white-and-red forehead mark stands in profile beside a tall brass oil lamp with a bird-shaped finial, holding a lit lamp with yellow flowers on its tray. He wears a sleeveless saffron-orange garment and a long white and red flower garland, under a stone roof with a pink curtain and green foliage behind. A second man in saffron robes and a gold beaded necklace stands at left holding a small brass vessel. The scene suggests a temple lamp offering or aarti on an open-air platform.2008-12-25 +1 copiesA photograph of a long-haired man in an orange robe with a gold-bordered shawl performing aarti with a lit oil lamp held in his right hand. He wears a white flower garland with red and maroon petal strands and a gold beaded necklace, and has a red tilak on his forehead. Behind him, a pillar and canopy are decorated with garlands of yellow, white, red and maroon flowers and banana-leaf foliage. A metal vessel is visible at the lower right edge.2007-01-01 +1 copiesA photograph of a man in a saffron-orange robe standing outdoors beneath a stone temple canopy, holding a tall brass standing lamp whose cup carries a lit flame. He wears a long white and red flower garland, with a vertical mark on his forehead and long dark hair swept back. Beside him stands a painted wooden cutout of a fierce deity face with red and yellow colouring and bared teeth. Red cloth hangs behind the lamp and green foliage fills the background. Appearance-based cues of long hair, saffron clothing and a garland match a person candidate performing an aarti-style lamp ritual, though the image is uncertain.2008-12-25 +1 copiesJuly 24 20052005-07-24
