May 17 20112011-05-17Outdoor ritual on a rocky hillside beneath a rising mountain under a pale sky. A man in saffron-orange robes with a yellow border and a white rudraksha-style bead mala raises a brass lamp with a bright flame overhead. Nearby, several men in orange robes stand with palms pressed together in reverence, while a figure in red sits on a woven chair beside a copper vessel and a brass dish. Two men in white dhotis stand to the right amid green trees and boulders. The scene suggests an aarti-style lamp offering at an open-air shrine.2011-05-17May 17 20112011-05-17May 17 20112011-05-17May 17 20112011-05-17April 01 20082008-04-01July 07 20092009-07-07December 30 20082008-12-30Outdoor ritual in a shaded courtyard beneath large leafy trees. In the foreground a devotee in orange robes bends over a brass tray holding a lit oil lamp, flowers, and offerings. Beside him, a man in white kneels and reaches toward the tray. Several orange-robed sannyasis stand in a line, one wearing an orange turban and rudraksha mala, another with a long beard and orange shawl, another bald-headed in orange. A woman in orange and gold stands at left, and onlookers in white and yellow shawls watch from the edges. A red stone deity murti and white offering bundles sit on a platform at left, with flower garlands on a wooden board. Vessels and an oil lamp are visible at ground level, and a red cloth hangs from a tree trunk behind.2008-12-30September 24 20122012-09-24December 30 20072007-12-30Outdoor ritual before a large banyan tree with aerial roots. A tall figure with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron robe and stands near a golden deity murti draped in a garland of yellow, red and purple flowers. Two men in white dhotis with red-bordered cloth and bare chests stand in front, one holding a flower garland and one holding offerings; both wear gold necklaces. Several saffron-robed sannyasis, one holding a small wooden tray and one in white with a camera, stand nearby. Red-stained stone base with scattered yellow flowers and brass vessels in front of the murti. The swami with the swept-back hair has distinctive long hair and saffron clothing; the identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2009-12-30
