September 30 20072007-09-30A priest in saffron-orange robes stands beside a large fire pit, holding a long wooden stick and guiding a flame with a dark cloth, during a fire ritual. Garlands of yellow and orange flowers hang around the area and a framed portrait behind the fire shows a smiling figure in orange robes with a mala, adorned with garlands, placed above a green-draped altar with a deity murti. Brass oil lamps stand on the right and a microphone is at the left edge. The priest wears a saffron head wrap, a long rudraksha mala and orange garments, and his appearance is not clear enough to confirm a particular person.2007-09-30A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a matching orange head wrap performs a fire ritual on a tiered white platform decorated with yellow and red flower garlands. A burning wood fire with flames rises at the centre, with brass oil lamps and a bowl of offerings nearby. He gestures with his hands toward a microphone in front of him. Behind the platform, a deity murti stands draped in a green cloth and garlanded with yellow and orange flowers. Bottles of water sit on the platform, and the scene is lit at night with smoke drifting in the background. The ritual appears to be a homa or yagna.2007-09-30September 30 20072007-09-30January 13 20152015-01-13Indoor ritual with a row of seated sadhus in saffron and orange robes, several with garlands of orange and white flowers, one bearded man in front wearing a flower garland. Men in white kurtas and white head cloths hold metal aarti trays with burning flames, while another devotee in dark clothing bends over a lit oil lamp. Pink walls and a framed picture are behind the group. Several people behind the rows raise phones to film or photograph. The flames and burning lamps indicate an aarti or fire offering being performed during a bandhara-style gathering.2014-03-13December 11 20152015-12-11August 26 20072007-08-26October 16 20102010-10-16 +1 copiesPhotograph of a fire ritual at night. A man in saffron-orange robes and a saffron head cloth, with a tilak on his forehead and a rudraksha mala, sits on a white platform holding a bowl of offerings and speaks into a microphone on a stand. Beside him a man in white clothes and a white shirt with a mala sits watching the flames. A blazing homa fire of stacked wooden logs burns in front of them, surrounded by red roses and yellow marigold garlands, with brass vessels, a kalasha and a lamp stand on the platform.
