Night photo of a group walking barefoot up stone steps at a temple entrance in Tamil Nadu. In the centre, a man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a matching orange turban and rudraksha mala walks beside an older man in an ornate orange robe with a gold-bordered cloth and a large bead necklace. Behind them, devotees in white dhotis and saris follow. On the right, a shaved-headed priest in a white dhoti with a gold border and sacred ash marks on his forehead stands with arms folded. Dark sky, a covered walkway, and signboards with Tamil text frame the scene; a temple gateway lies behind.

In the centre a man with long swept-back dark hair wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, a long gold-beaded necklace and a red forehead mark, walking forward with a smile. Around him men in white shirts and dhotis, several with orange shawls, walk alongside; one in the foreground holds a small pink-marked object. A uniformed police officer stands in the background near the gate.
