Marigold and red flower petals are scattered over the bricks. Behind it, a partially visible person in white dhoti and a wristwatch reaches toward the fire, holding an object. On the right stands a low table draped with a yellow and red floral cloth, bearing green coconuts, an orange fruit, and a brass plate of offerings. Striped cloths cover the floor on the left, with a bowl of grains at the lower left. This appears to be a homa or yagna fire ritual.2017-06-23January 08 20122012-01-08September 27 20172017-09-27 +1 copiesClose photo of a homa fire burning in a square fire pit built of reddish-orange bricks with white painted geometric markings on the rim. Flames rise from dry wood and sticks inside the pit, with a small metal cup holding incense sticks at the back. Red rose petals and flower offerings lie on the brick edges and in a flower tray behind, and a brass vessel with a long handle sits at the left. Colourful cloth and a mat are visible in the dim background.
