A large old banyan tree dominates the frame, its thick grey trunk and many spreading horizontal limbs forming a broad canopy of green leaves. Numerous aerial roots hang and twist down around the trunk, some merging into it. A low cream-coloured stone platform or raised border surrounds the base, with reddish soil and a dark recess visible at the foot of the trunk. No people are visible.
