Several colourful decorated umbrellas and ornate silver-tipped staffs are carried by men in white dhotis and white shirts. At the centre, a man with long dark hair wears an orange-saffron shawl and a white-and-red flower garland; he walks under a tall fringed umbrella with red trim. Beside him a man in a white kurta wears a red-gold bordered shawl and a rudraksha-style mala. A drummer in white with a red sash plays a drum at lower left, and a woman in a red sari with gold jewellery is visible at lower right. Some men wear orange sashes and white clothes. A large crowd of devotees follows in the background.2006-12-29December 23 20092009-12-23A procession on a dirt road lined with palm trees proceeds toward the camera. Several men in white dhotis and white kurtas wear orange or yellow shawls. Two men at the front hold large ornate umbrella-shaped standards with embroidered red, gold and blue panels, and a third umbrella stands behind them. Men carry orange flags on poles. In the centre, a figure in an orange robe carries a small deity murti garlanded with white flowers, and other men in white hold flower offerings on plates. The scene reads as a ratha-style padayatra.2008-08-07December 23 20092009-12-23A procession of young men walks along a dirt path lined with brick edging, under a cloudy sky with palm and leafy trees on either side. Two men in front wear white dhotis and orange shawls, one carrying a black speaker box. In the centre, a man in an orange robe and a man in orange-saffron clothing walk together, one holding a bunch of flowers. Several men in white dhotis and yellow or orange shawls follow, some holding ornate decorated umbrellas (chhatris) with embroidered fringed canopies in red, gold and multicolour. A tall bamboo-like staff is held by a man in white at the right. Small brick houses with blue doors stand at left.2008-08-07December 24 20082008-12-24
