A photograph taken at night beneath a large old banyan tree with thick aerial roots and a low horizontal branch. A single man stands at the left edge in an orange-saffron dhoti and upper cloth, wearing a long white garland with red flower accents and a gold chain. He looks up toward the tree with a slight smile. Around the trunk are circular raised white platforms on a sandy ground with a loose orange cord. The scene is lit dimly, with the tree canopy dark above.2013-01-01April 24 20132013-04-24April 24 20132013-04-24A man in a saffron-orange dhoti and matching shawl with gold border stands at night beside a large banyan tree, his forehead pressed against the trunk and eyes closed in devotion. He wears a long gold-bead necklace, a gold armlet and bangles, and has long dark hair swept back. A street lamp and a few flower arrangements sit in the background. Swamiji (probable): the saffron clothing, long hair, ornate gold necklace and armlet are the qualifying cues for the figure, who is shown in prayerful pose at the banyan tree.2013-07-08April 24 20132013-04-24A photograph taken at night of a figure in an orange saffron garment standing to the left, wearing a long white and red flower garland and a gold necklace, with long dark hair and a sindoor mark on the forehead. The figure holds a small brass handbell in the right hand while looking toward a large banyan tree trunk. The trunk and its hanging aerial roots are marked with red and yellow kumkum or turmeric paste, and a flower garland hangs at the lower right edge. Flowers and leaves are in the lower left foreground, and dark trees fill the background.2007-01-01January 1st 2013April 24 20132013-04-24A photograph taken at night beneath a large old banyan tree with thick, hanging aerial roots and a circular stone platform at its base scattered with yellow flower petals. A man stands at left in an orange-saffron dhoti and matching upper cloth with a gold-edged border, wearing a long white flower garland with red blossoms, his palms pressed together in namaskar as he bows toward the tree. A brass plate of yellow flowers is visible at the lower left edge. The man's appearance does not clearly establish him as the event's named figure, so he is described only by role as a devotee performing a tree worship gesture. +2 copiesMay 11 20132013-05-11Night photograph of a person in an orange saffron robe with a white and red flower garland standing at left, holding a brass or silver puja lamp and a small bell in the hands, facing a large banyan tree with aerial roots. Red and yellow marigold garlands hang on the tree trunk at right. Several other people in white clothing stand partially visible at the left edge. The scene is dark with the tree lit by the flash. The figure in orange has short dark hair, a crown-like adornment is not visible, and no rudraksha or ceremonial gold necklace is clearly seen, so the identity of the orange-clad figure cannot be confirmed from appearance.2007-01-01May 01 20122012-05-01
