Wide photograph of a large indoor convention hall with a stage at the far end under a decorated ceiling of pale draped fabric and hanging lights. Hundreds of seated delegates fill plastic chairs in rows, mostly men in white shirts and dhotis or trousers, viewed from behind. A large banner above the stage carries Tamil-script text and a portrait. On the stage a figure in orange-red robes sits at the front, with a microphone and flower arrangements nearby, though he is too small and distant to confirm appearance. Pillars are decorated with coloured streamers and a red carpet runs down the central aisle.
