A photograph of a temple courtyard where a group of young men in saffron-orange dhotis and wraps perform a ritual near a shrine. In the foreground, a bare-chested man with long dark hair and rudraksha malas holds a silver kalasha-style vessel and a ceremonial lamp, while others beside him wear orange cloth and hold drums. To the right, a gilded deity murti stands in a richly decorated shrine decorated with flower garlands, marigolds and petals scattered on the stone platform, with a brass oil lamp in front. Behind them is a red and orange flag and a low wall with a stone-carved temple pillar.2015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13May 13 20152015-05-13A photograph of a shrine at an outdoor temple setting with carved grey stone pillars and a tiled roof. Five young men in saffron-orange dhotis with bare upper bodies, some with long dreadlocked hair, stand in a row with arms raised in devotion, several wearing white sacred threads and white markings on their chests and arms. Inside the shrine, a deity murti with gold crown and ornaments is adorned with garlands, beaded necklaces and a golden ceremonial backdrop, with brass oil lamps set on the stone ledge and offering baskets with flowers nearby. Petals are scattered in the air near the shrine. A saffron-draped ornate chariot or structure appears at the left edge.2015-05-13August 31 20152015-08-31July 12 20132013-07-12A photograph of a temple shrine during worship. A large deity murti in a golden arched niche is draped with marigold garlands and red and orange flowers, and it sits on a white and red decorated pedestal. Several men in saffron-orange robes stand at the granite platform in front, one holding a lamp toward the deity and another tending offerings on silver trays with flowers. A man in a yellow shawl and white clothes stands at left beside a fellow in orange holding a long staff. Red curtains frame the open pavilion, and white plants and flowers decorate its edges. The scene looks like a puja or aarti in progress.2008-12-26 +1 copiesFebruary 23 20072007-02-23
