A photograph of a stone temple shrine with an arched gold-framed niche holding a large Shiva-Parvati deity murti, the male figure with a trident and the female figure in a pink-and-gold sari, both garlanded with marigold and multicolour flower strands. A kalasha-like vessel and a small orange-robed seated figure statue sit at the base, surrounded by garlands. Devotees stand at the lower steps: a man in a white shirt with his hands raised near the altar, a woman in a lavender top, a man in a white shirt and a woman in a light sari, and a child in blue. Brass oil lamps stand on either side and red cloth hangs on the pillars.2008-04-07April 03 20082008-04-03Temple shrine photograph showing a richly gilded deity murti pair under a golden arch, a male form holding a trident and a female form in a magenta sari, with garlands of yellow and red marigolds. Before them, a seated figure in saffron-orange robes sits on a white cloth, surrounded by flower garlands, a golden kalasha-like vessel, brass oil lamps, fruit and flower offerings on a platform. A man in an orange shawl stands at left, a man in white with a bag photographs the scene at lower left, and a man in orange at right near a golden palanquin-style stand with heaped flowers. Grey carved stone pillars frame the shrine.2010-07-21A photograph of a temple shrine with a large pair of decorated deity murtis, a male and a female figure seated on a raised pedestal, adorned with multicolored garlands of marigolds and leaves. The male figure holds a trident and wears a crown and necklaces; the female figure wears a red and gold sari-style dress and jewelry. A bull (nandi) figure in front is also garlanded. Brass oil lamps stand on both sides against blue drapes, and palm fronds and flowers decorate the pillars. In the foreground, several people in white and orange clothing sit with their backs to the camera, facing the shrine during ritual worship. Scattered flower petals and offering plates lie on the floor.2008-12-30December 30 20082008-12-30December 30 20082008-12-30December 30 20082008-12-30April 07 20082008-04-07 +1 copiesApril 07 20082008-04-07 +1 copiesA photograph of a temple shrine with a gilded arch framing two decorated deity murtis, a male figure with an orange turban and crescent ornament holding a trident, and a female figure in a red and blue dress with a crown. Both are adorned with garlands of yellow and red flowers and ornate silver necklaces. In front stands a golden kalasha-like vessel with lit lamps on top. In the lower left, a man with long dark hair in a yellow-shawled garment bends toward the offerings. Stone pillars and oil lamps surround the shrine. The shrine statues are murtis, not living people.2008-10-08December 30 20082008-12-30A photograph of a decorated shrine with a pair of deity murti, one with a trident and crown and the other with a crescent-topped headdress, both draped in floral garlands in red, yellow and white. Brass oil lamps stand on both sides, and a Shiva-linga style form sits before them, surrounded by flower garlands. Blue drapes frame the arched golden doorway. In the foreground, several seated devotees in white and dark clothing face the shrine, with fruit offerings on a plate at left. The scene suggests an abhishekam or puja at a temple shrine.2008-12-30
