August 20 20142014-08-20 +1 copiesOutdoor religious procession under a red and gold canopy with crowds of onlookers behind. A central man with long swept-back hair, a vertical tilak on his forehead, a red and white flower garland and gold necklaces wears saffron-orange robes and walks forward smiling; he appears to be the probable Swamiji, identified by his long hair, ornate gold necklaces, garland and saffron clothing. Flanking him, a bald man in saffron with a rudraksha mala and gold ornaments carries a long staff, while a white-clad attendant with a gold-handled staff walks at left. Orange and gold ceremonial umbrellas with floral emblems hang overhead, and a gilded deity murti or palanquin appears at the right edge with gold ceremonial fans.2012-01-01A procession under a covered walkway with a saffron-and-blue canopy pole. In the foreground a man with a sweeping dark hairstyle, white vibhuti tripundra on the forehead, wears a long red-brown robe, a red flower garland with gold ornaments, and a gold-bead necklace; he walks smiling toward the right. Behind him, boys in orange robes play drums and long brass horns (karnam-style), and a man in a white dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala walks among them. Palm trees, parked cars and a red wall are visible outside. Appearance-based candidate for a person: long swept-back hair, red-brown robe, ornate gold necklace and flower garland shown in a procession.2014-08-20 +1 copiesA procession of saffron-robed devotees under a sunlit tree canopy. In the centre, a bearded man in a deep maroon-brown robe wears a pink and white flower garland, a long gold-and-bead necklace, and a rudraksha mala, with white vertical forehead markings, and smiles. Behind him, a line of young men in orange dhotis and shawls carry rudraksha malas and wear white tilak markings; one boy at right in orange clothing and beads stands beside a barrel drum. Blue and orange ceremonial umbrellas and a yellow banner are visible. A videographer on a tripod films the group from left. Several people stand beside the procession, including a woman in a red sari at far left. Based on appearance, the central figure with long hair and a gold-and-bead necklace is a person candidate, but this is uncertain given the restrained cues.2017-01-14January 04 20152015-01-04 +1 copiesJuly 19 20162016-07-19April 21 20152015-04-21June 07 20162016-06-07A procession on a paved courtyard with palm trees behind. At the centre, a man with long swept-back hair wears a large red and white garland, a heavy gold necklace and a rudraksha mala, and a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl. Two bare-chested attendants in saffron-orange dhotis and rudraksha malas walk beside him, one raising a parasol-like umbrella with a teal and orange canopy and gold finials. Behind them, a woman in an orange-red sari and other devotees in white and orange walk along, some with palms pressed together in namaste. Onlookers stand along the edge of the path. Yellow-and-red banners with a red emblem hang from poles.2015-01-04 +1 copiesOctober 31 20142014-10-31June 07 20162016-06-07A photograph of a procession on a paved courtyard beside a red-roofed building and palm trees. In the foreground a man with long swept-back hair, bare-chested and wearing a red-and-gold dhoti, a red and white flower garland and a gold necklace, walks barefoot with his hands joined near his chest. Behind him a bald man in a red-and-gold dhoti carries a tall wooden staff, and a second man in similar red robes raises a pointing finger. Several rows of people in saffron-orange robes walk with hands folded in prayer, and a woman in a yellow shawl and white sari stands among them. A decorated ceremonial umbrella with a red and gold canopy is held aloft, and palm fronds hang overhead. The scene reads as a ritual procession.2014-11-26
