Outdoor Pongal celebration under a corrugated roof with palm trees behind. In the foreground a seated devotee in saffron robes with white sacred ash markings on the shoulder holds a microphone and folds hands before a silver plate of grains and a clay pot of Pongal set in sand. Centre, a figure in a crown and red garland sits on a golden throne beneath a decorated umbrella, with attendants in red and white dhotis nearby. Rows of seated devotees in saffron, orange and white clothing fill the floor, and a cameraman in white stands among them. A colourful rangoli design lies on the ground.
