August 09 20152015-08-09A large open-sided tin-roofed pavilion filled with seated devotees in rows on mats, many men in white ritual clothes and women in saffron, red, pink and orange saris. Some sit cross-legged before small white sand or ash-marked platforms holding offerings. At the far right, a richly decorated altar with floral garlands, colourful arches and a red-draped table is tended by robed attendants in orange. Coconut palms and strings of lights are visible beyond the open sides. A seated figure in a white shirt near centre-right faces the altar. Many people are present, and the scene reads as a group ritual ceremony.2006-12-26August 09 20152015-08-09July 24 20102010-07-24December 31 20062006-12-31July 15 20112011-07-15December 29 20082008-12-29A large outdoor gathering of devotees seated on the ground under a decorated pandal hung with orange and white banners and green mango-leaf festoons. Standing figures in white dhotis and white clothes, some with orange shawls, stand near the centre; one man in an orange garment stands among them under a red-and-white ceremonial umbrella. A video camera on a tripod records the scene at left. At right stands a yellow metal scaffold-like canopy with a red and dark fabric top and a white-framed structure with a framed picture. Devotees in white sarees, a woman with a flower garland in her braid, and men in shirts fill the foreground.2005-07-21A dense outdoor crowd of many seated devotees fills the foreground, most dressed in white and cream clothing, with some women in saris and shawls, and a man in a striped maroon shirt and a blue track jacket in front. Behind them, white-clad attendants move among colourful striped and patterned canopies or umbrellas. A stage area is decorated with orange and blue bunting, banana plants and palm fronds, and a decorated deity murti or ornate altar stands in the background beneath a tent canopy.2007-01-01December 29 20082008-12-29December 31 20062006-12-31
