Outdoor procession at an ashram. A large ornate chariot or palanquin, decorated with multicoloured painted panels, red and gold fabric, palm leaves and garlands, carries a seated figure draped in garlands at its centre. Several men and women in white ritual clothes walk alongside, several wearing saffron or red shawls and some holding the chariot's cloth and ropes. A man in white with a rudraksha-style mala holds a long pole topped with a golden finial. A red and gold umbrella with fringed edges shades the procession. Thatched roofing and bunting stand to the left under a clear sky.2010-12-26December 26 20102010-12-26December 30 20062006-12-30 +1 copiesFebruary 11 20072007-02-11December 29 20092009-12-29December 21 20112011-12-21December 27 20092009-12-27June 19 20142014-06-19 +1 copiesFebruary 02 20102010-02-02November 13 20062006-11-13November 21 20102010-11-21Outdoor festival procession at dusk on open grassland with trees behind. In the foreground a figure with long dark hair wears an orange sleeveless wrap over bare shoulders, facing away from the camera, with a rudraksha-style mala visible. Behind them several men in white dhotis and white shirts carry decorated umbrella-like canopies in orange, red and gold with floral and bird motifs. On the right, a small ornate colourful palanquin or ratha canopy with gold fringe shelters a deity murti in a richly dressed form; a man in white stands atop the structure and others in white hold its poles. Garlands of marigold-like flowers and multicoloured embroidered cloth decorate the processional vehicles, with another decorated canopy further back. Some men wear garlands around their necks.2005-12-22
