Photograph of a temple puja inside a shrine decorated with yellow and red marigold garlands. Three deity murtis stand in niches: a central figure in green and gold garments with a white crown-like headdress, a figure on the left in blue drapery with a tall white crest, and a figure on the right in red and gold with a crown. Two shirtless priests in white dhotis with sacred ash markings sit cross-legged on mats before a brass yajna/puja vessel holding flowers, fruit, a lit lamp and offerings. The priest on the left holds a long ceremonial implement, and the priest on the right wears a rudraksha mala. A brass lamp stands on the left side.

At center, a figure in a green-trimmed white dhoti stands at a richly decorated throne-like altar draped in red and gold, decorated with yellow and red flower garlands, lifting a ritual implement toward an image. Another priest in white dhoti and an orange-gold shawl kneels to the right, and a seated priest with a pink-red headcloth sits at the lower left beside brass offering vessels, fruit and a bright oil lamp flame. Several deity murti and decorated figures in garlands sit on the altar. The scene shows an abhishekam or puja in progress, with incense smoke in the air. No figure clearly matches the appearance cues needed to identify a person, so the figures are described by role only.2016-02-02February 02 20162016-02-02February 02 20162016-02-02A photograph of a ritual on a raised stage before three ornate deity murtis and a fourth seated figure, all adorned with yellow, orange and red marigold garlands and pearl necklaces.
