A large stone Shiva lingam on a circular base is covered in heavy garlands of marigolds, yellow and purple flowers, and draped with a serpent-shaped floral garland with a hooded head. Behind it, tiers of red-brown stone steps are filled with many seated devotees, mostly men and women in white, saffron and colourful clothing, some shirtless, all facing the lingam. A metal staircase with railings rises at left, with robed figures in orange on its landings. Many small brass lamps sit on the steps, and orange and red cloth lies at the lower right. Red-and-white flags stand at the back wall. This appears to be an abhishekam or puja gathering at an outdoor lingam, with attendees seated in rows.
