Outdoor ceremony at a large black Shiva lingam wrapped in dense garlands of yellow, orange, magenta and purple flowers, with a striped flower skirt at its base and a white ornamental band. A white metal staircase climbs beside it. On a red-draped stage at right, a saffron-robed person sits, and several bare-chested men in white dhotis sit or stand around, with a pink-sari woman near the lingam. A canopy with colourful fringe shelters a seated figure at right. A tiered stone amphitheatre behind is packed with seated, mostly white-clad devotees, and red flags line the left side. The scene suggests a puja or abhishekam; a brass figure stands at left.
