A photograph outdoors beneath a coconut palm. A man in saffron-orange robes with a dark rudraksha mala around his neck raises one arm to pull an orange rope tied to a tall copper column. A second, younger man in a white garment and gold beaded necklace leans in from the lower right, steadying the column's base with his outstretched hand. The copper column has carved tiers and a relief of a seated figure, set on an orange stepped platform with grey statues behind. Green palms and trees fill the background under a pale sky.

A dark rudraksha mala hangs at his chest and a red mark is on his forehead. Behind him a second man in white ritual cloth stands near the ornately carved copper base, which shows a relief of a tree and decorative bands. Tall palm trees and greenery fill the background. The man pulling the cord is the only clearly visible saffron-clad figure; no appearance-based candidate qualifies beyond a generic sannyasi.2011-09-02Outdoors under a blue sky with clouds and tall coconut palms, a tall copper dhvaja stambha (flagstaff) rises from a carved stone base on a raised orange platform. Two saffron-robed men stand at the pole: on the left a bald priest in orange with a red border tends the rope wound around the pole, while on the right a young man with long dark hair wears an orange-red robe and a beaded mala, placing his hand on the copper column. Marigold petals lie at the base. Behind them, devotees in white and in saffron stand near a banner, small triangular bunting flags, and a ceremonial canopy. The image shows a flagstaff ritual.2010-10-18 +1 copiesOutdoors beneath a corrugated metal shelter, a man in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl with a rudraksha mala stands on a stepped base, pulling a yellow cloth wrapped around a tall copper ritual pillar (dhwajastambha-style) with carved bands and a small shrine-like top. Behind him a second person in white clothing stands partly hidden. Palm trees, an orange-walled building and a flower stall sign are visible. The man's pose suggests he is hoisting or tying the cloth on the pillar.2011-09-02September 02 20112011-09-02March 02 20112011-03-02October 18 20102010-10-18 +2 copiesA flag-hoisting ceremony at an outdoor temple courtyard beside a tall copper flagstaff decorated with white and red flower garlands.
