A man in the centre wears a red turban, a saffron-red robe with gold border, a long gold-bead garland and a cross-shaped pendant, and is smiling as he walks. Beside him a bald man in red-gold robes and rudraksha malas looks at a small device in his hand. Women in deep red saris with gold borders and rudraksha malas walk alongside, one carrying a long silver staff, another holding a large ornate golden fan-shaped parasol. A young woman in white and a girl in white with rudraksha beads also appear. Several people are partially visible in the foreground, with more people in the background.2015-11-16September 12 20122012-09-12A procession inside a hall with orange-red walls moves along a red carpet toward a decorated doorway. At the centre a barefoot man in saffron-orange robes, with a headband and a long beaded garland, walks forward with his hands at his sides. Behind him a group of devotees follows, including men in white dhoti-style clothing and women in orange saris. A large multicoloured ceremonial umbrella with tasselled fringe is held above the procession, and a decorated palanquin or ratha appears in the background beside bunting-festooned doorway. A stainless steel handrail lines the carpet. Several people in the procession are carrying items, and a man in white with an orange cloth stands at the right edge.2010-12-27June 07 20162016-06-07A photograph of a procession inside a red-carpeted tent at the Kumbh Mela camp.
