Most are in white shirts and trousers, with some in darker or patterned clothes. Many lie prone on their stomachs, lifting their upper bodies in a backbend pose, with hands planted beside them. Metal dumbbell-style weights sit between the mats. Framed portraits of two women in saffron-toned clothing hang high on the left wall, and a red-brown sculptural form stands near the centre. Several people in the background wear red, orange and yellow saris and kurtas. The room has recessed ceiling lights and tall windows with red curtains.2011-09-16November 24 20112011-11-24A large hall with a polished floor where many people perform a yoga sequence on coloured mats, mostly in cobra or child-like forward poses. Many men wear white shirts and white dhotis, with some in pink, blue, green and striped clothing. Metal dumbbells and bolsters sit between the rows, and a roped-off aisle divides the room. On the wall, framed portraits and a large painting hang above red drapes, and a banner strip with small photographs runs along the right wall. The scene is a yoga session, not a clearly identifiable person in the foreground.2011-09-16A large bright hall with cream walls and a polished floor hosts a group yoga class of roughly thirty participants on coloured mats in a warrior pose, arms extended horizontally. Most wear white kurta-style or white tops and trousers with yellow waist sashes; one man in the foreground wears a white tee printed with a woman's portrait and a yellow sash, another wears an orange top, and a man at right wears a red-and-white checked shirt. Small silver dumbbells sit on the floor between mats. Framed portraits hang on the back wall, and red curtains line the windows and a stage at right.2011-08-01A large indoor hall with a light tiled floor and a row of framed portraits and a painted deity picture on the walls, with red drapes at the windows. Many people in a yoga session stand in a warrior-pose lunge with arms raised overhead, on coloured mats in green, purple, pink and blue, with small hand weights beside them. Most wear white or light clothing, while one man in the foreground right wears an orange robe with a printed figure on the chest. Several banners stand along the right wall.2011-08-01July 10 20112011-07-10A photograph of a large, polished-floor hall during a morning yoga session. Many participants stand on green and blue yoga mats in a standing pose, arms raised or hands at the chest. Front right, a man in white kurta and white dhoti stands on a green mat with hands folded at his chest. Beside him, a man in a white shirt and shorts performs a similar pose, and a woman in a white sari stands nearby. Behind them, people in casual clothing and saris continue the practice. Framed portraits hang along the back wall, and metal stanchions with bollards divide the floor. A ceiling fan and fluorescent lights hang overhead.2011-08-28 +1 copies
