Outdoor ashram inauguration scene under a colourful fringed canopy with banana plants and a bamboo railing in the foreground. A standing man in a saffron/orange robe stands near a tripod-mounted camera, another in saffron stands behind a red-and-yellow fringed parasol, and a woman in saffron with garlands stands at left. Several people in white dhotis and kurtas, white caps and a uniformed officer in khaki with peaked cap are nearby, with a bunch of green bananas hanging at right. The nearby white-clad crowd and the ritual setting suggest a ceremonial occasion.

Ornate multicoloured parasols with bird and floral motifs and gold finials stand at the left. Bamboo barricades and palm fronds line the path, and a white arched gateway with festoons is behind. A man in a white shirt and dark trousers in the foreground gestures toward the barricades. A bald monk in orange with a gold chain stands at centre, and a photographer with a camera is at right. Given the crowd size, many more than 100 people appear in the scene, though only those clearly visible are counted here.2007-02-02A procession passes along a dirt path under a bamboo-pole canopy hung with striped purple, orange and green cloth and small embroidered parasols bearing a white dove emblem.
