In the centre, a saffron-robed sannyasi with a shaved head stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, wearing a dark red shawl over orange robes; a bald monk in saffron stands at his left, and other saffron-clad monks and priests in white dhotis surround the area. A bare-chested priest in a yellow dhoti at right holds a ritual object while a white-clad priest tends an altar of decorated kalashas with white flowers and marigold garlands. A deity murti adorned with garlands sits at lower centre, and a crowd of onlookers, one photographer with a camera, fills the frame. Strings of lights glow in the background.2008-02-17February 18 20082008-02-18A dense outdoor crowd surrounds a vehicle decorated with white and orange flower garlands. In the centre, an older bald man with a white beard wears a saffron-orange robe and reaches toward the vehicle's side. Beside him, a shaved-headed devotee in an orange robe bows with hands raised near his face. Other men in white shirts and glasses press in, one holding a folded paper, and a man in a gold-banded wrist wears a white shirt. Above, colourful umbrellas and a police officer in khaki are visible. Garlands of yellow and white flowers hang across the foreground. The pictured person's identity cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.2009-07-23
