A bald man in an orange-saffron robe, with a rudraksha mala and a tilak on his forehead, stands at centre holding a large round plate of offerings containing coconuts, fruit and red flowers. Beside him a red-cushioned seat is set up, and a sacrificial fire pit with a shallow vessel of offerings sits in the foreground, where a person's hands are visible. Several men in white dhotis and shirts stand behind and to the side, some with hands folded in prayer, and one wears a checked shirt. A microphone stand stands by the fire pit, consistent with a homa or chandi homa ritual.January 09 and 10 2001 - Day 1 and 2 of Chandi Homa in KavunthapadiA photograph of a fire ritual at night in an outdoor temple setting. A young man with a shaved head, wearing a red-orange cloth and a multi-strand rudraksha-style bead mala, bends over a low platform scattered with pink, yellow and white flower petals and garlands. He reaches toward the offering with his right hand. Beside him, a man in white shirt and white dhoti holds a round steel plate with a small dish and utensils. Behind them stands an older man in white clothing. The scene suggests a puja or abhishekam offering. The young man's appearance is not sufficiently distinctive to confirm identity, so the role is given as priest.2001 - KAILASA in Tiruchengode (activities yet to be dated)January 09 and 10 2001 - Day 1 and 2 of Chandi Homa in KavunthapadiJanuary 09 and 10 2001 - Day 1 and 2 of Chandi Homa in KavunthapadiJanuary 09 and 10 2001 - Day 1 and 2 of Chandi Homa in KavunthapadiA photograph of a homa fire ritual at night under a pandal with orange triangular flags and leafy decorations.
