A night photograph of a Deepavali celebration at a temple courtyard. In the foreground a dark silhouetted man holds a lit firecracker, sending bright sparks and fireworks streaming across the ground past small upright sticks. Behind him a row of figures in white dhotis and shawls stands in smoky haze, with a bare-chested or white-clad figure and a standing attendant at right beside a dark pillar and a hanging garland. No clear ritual figure can be confidently identified, so the a person field is unsure.
