Night ritual scene before a tiered row of black stone deity murtis, many garlanded with yellow and white flower strands. In the foreground a bare-chested priest in white dhoti with a pink-tasselled cloth bends and holds a garland of pink flowers near a seated man wearing a black turban, rudraksha-style beaded necklaces and a red-brown dhoti, who holds a ritual object. Behind them another attendant in a red turban holds a garland. Silver vessels, a silver elephant-shaped stand, a silver palanquin-like canopy, a brass pot and piles of red, yellow and orange powders lie on the ground, marking a puja or abhishekam at a Thaipusam-style procession setting. The seated man resembles a person by his turban, beads and saffron-toned dress, but the appearance is not conclusive.
