Three men kneel together on reddish-brown earth beside white-painted stone walls, digging or pressing soil with their hands. The man in the centre wears a white sleeveless vest and white dhoti and has short greying hair. The man on the left is shaved-headed, wears an orange-red cloth draped over his shoulder, a rudraksha mala with ornate gold pendants, and white ash markings on his forearm and forehead. The man on the right is also shaved-headed, wears orange clothing and a rudraksha mala, and has a white marking on his arm. Marigold petals and a few yellow flowers lie on the ground and on a stone bench, and a purple cloth is visible at the lower left. A fire-pit homa-style setup appears to be in use.2010-09-18November 06 20162016-11-06April 24 20132013-04-24Outdoor bhumi puja at a pink-walled ashram building. A man in a rust-brown robe with a large multicoloured flower garland stands at a square brick-and-earth ground site, holding a ritual implement and looking down toward offerings of marigold petals. Beside him, a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti with an orange-red shawl bends over the ground. Other attendants in white dhotis, bare-chested, wear rudraksha malas and orange cloths, and a man in an orange-red turban holds a brass vessel. A tall bamboo pole topped with a red and gold fringed canopy rises at the right, and a kolam of coloured powder decorates the ground at left. Several people watch from a balcony above. a person appearance cues: the garlanded man in the rust robe with a rudraksha-style necklace is a candidate; treat as unsure.2016-11-23A shaved-headed man in orange-saffron robes sits cross-legged on the ground before a stepped stack of red bricks decorated with yellow and white flowers. He holds a small silver cup and appears to be pouring or preparing an offering, with a silver tray of flowers, a small bowl and a brass vessel placed to his left. A rudraksha-style mala with ornate gold-toned beads hangs around his neck. Behind him, seated people in white garments and a shawl sit on white plastic chairs on a teal mat, watching the ritual. Colourful rangoli-style patterns decorate the ground. Possible puja or abhishekam setting; a person candidate is not clearly identifiable from appearance here, so the figure is described by role as a priest performing the ritual.2010-12-16
