A man in white dhoti and shirt with a yellow shawl stands centre, holding a small object while a woman in an orange saffron sari with a shawl faces him, hands clasped in greeting. On the left, two men in white clothes with orange shawls hold a tall ornate parasol pole with a multicoloured canopy. Behind them a line of women in white saris with yellow shawls and some in pink and red saris hold brass staffs and stand in a row. Several onlookers in dark clothes stand at the right edge, and a few people are visible in the background. A bare-chested man in orange-red dhoti with a rudraksha mala and white markings on his chest and arms, holding a small metal kalasha, stands at centre facing a woman in pink-red sari. A large umbrella with multicoloured tassels and a decorated canopy is held overhead, and women in orange, red and white saris stand around, some holding flower garlands and a lit lamp on a pole.
