Green leafy garlands are strung across the top of the gateway. Several people walk past: a man in a white shirt on the left, two women in red and patterned saris carrying a pink plastic bag, and a man in white with an orange shawl near a parked vehicle at right. Uniformed police officers stand inside the passage. A blue sign on the left reads Sri Vinayagar Sannidhi, and a larger blue board on the right gives temple information.

In the centre, a man in a saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala and a long gold-coloured necklace walks at the front of a group, a person candidate by appearance, though the cues are not conclusive enough for a firm identification. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts, orange-robed attendants, a man in a blue striped shirt, and a woman in a black sari with a broom stand or walk on the stone floor. Metal barricades and notice boards with yellow and green posters line the walls, including a board reading annadhanam in Tamil.2009-08-01
