A photograph taken from behind of a person in an orange-saffron robe with long dark hair, standing on a metal-railed balcony or viewing platform under a corrugated metal roof. The figure raises both arms overhead, hands joined above the head, in a gesture of prayer or salutation toward a steep, grassy hillside with exposed rock and dry reeds. Blue tarpaulin and debris are visible at the lower left. The setting suggests a Himalayan mountain site.

May 24 20062006-05-24A photograph of a person seen from behind in a saffron-orange robe with an orange wrap draped over the shoulders, raising both palms together above the head in a namaskar or prayer gesture. Long dark curly hair falls down the back. Behind is a rocky, grassy hillside, and a red and yellow railing runs along the bottom edge. Identity is not established from appearance: the figure is not clearly identifiable, and the setting suggests a Himalayan shrine area.2006-05-24May 24 20062006-05-24May 24 20062006-05-24A photograph taken from a covered balcony overlooking a steep, grassy mountain slope under a corrugated metal roof. In the foreground, a long-haired man in an orange-saffron robe with a grey shawl sits on a black metal bench, leaning forward toward a brass ritual setup. The setup includes a brass tray with small cups, a silver-toned puja vessel, a small brass figure and a brass shrine piece. Probable Swamiji: the seated man has long, swept-back dark hair and orange saffron clothing, which are the qualifying cues. Another person in pink sits behind the bench, and a partly visible head appears at the bottom edge. Railings with decorative scrollwork frame the balcony.2006-05-24A photograph of a man in profile with eyes closed and palms pressed together in anjali mudra at chest level, in a devotional prayer pose. He has long, dark, wavy hair gathered up at the back of his head and wears a saffron-orange robe draped over his shoulders. He leans on a red metal railing, with a rocky, green-tinged hillside blurred behind him. The appearance matches the page's Swamiji candidate with several cues: long swept-back hair and saffron clothing, so this is probable Swamiji (probable) at prayer, in person, alone.2006-05-24May 24 20062006-05-24A photograph of a long-haired man in saffron-orange robes seated at a metal railing inside a corrugated-roof shrine overlooking a rocky, grassy hillside. He reaches toward a brass puja set with a small silver and gold shrine, bowls and a kalasha-style vessel, while a bowl of rose petals sits in the foreground. A bearded figure in dark clothing is partly visible at lower left, and a plastic water bottle sits at lower right. Probable Swamiji seated in saffron robes with long hair, performing abhishekam-style offerings at the Yamunotri shrine area.2006-05-24May 24 20062006-05-24A photograph of a long-haired figure in saffron-orange robes seated at a wooden bench inside a corrugated-roof shelter overlooking a steep rocky mountain gorge with green vegetation. The figure holds a small metal cup or vessel over a brass and copper ritual setup on the bench, which includes a brass kalasha-like vessel, a brass deity figure in an arched frame, a conch shell and small brass lamps. A red-stained stone or mound stands near the bench, and a partial head of a person appears in the lower foreground. Below, a crowd of pilgrims in colourful clothing is visible on a metal-railed walkway by the water. This appears to be a ritual abhishekam setting at a mountain shrine.2006-05-24May 24 20062006-05-24A photograph of a long-haired man in an orange saffron shawl standing on a hillside slope, looking out over a river valley. Steep forested hills rise behind him, with terraced fields on the slopes. Below, a small concrete building with a dark roof and a blue tarpaulin sits beside a rushing river with white water. Tree branches frame the left edge under a hazy sky. The man's appearance, with long swept-back hair and an orange wrap, matches a person, but the cues are limited, so the identity is uncertain.2006-05-22
