A photograph under a large banyan tree with sprawling aerial roots and thick low branches. A yellow JCB backhoe loader digs a trench into reddish-brown earth, its bucket resting in a freshly excavated pit with mounded soil beside it. Inside the cab sits an operator in a blue shirt. A standing man in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl watches at right, and two women in saris, one white with a blue-bordered sari and one blue, stand near the tree trunk, with another woman in red seated at left. In the background a deity murti is visible under the branches, and the scene suggests a temple-grounds setting.
