A young boy with long dark hair, bare-chested and wearing an orange wrap, pours from a gold-coloured vessel over the bull's head and neck. Beside him, another young boy in an orange cloth raises an arm near the bull. Brass pots, bowls and a small brass lamp are arranged on the steps, with stone lingam-shaped stands and white cloths behind. Yellow liquid runs down the statue, indicating an abhishekam ritual.2017-07-31 +1 copiesJuly 03 20172017-07-03 +1 copiesA shirtless young priest in an orange dhoti and sacred thread stands at a black stone Nandi statue, pouring water from a golden vessel over the bull's back and face while water splashes around it. A yellow and white flower garland hangs on the Nandi. Behind them, seated devotees on red stone steps hold brass vessels and lamps, and some wear white clothing. A blue bowl and a red bag sit on the steps, and a red flag appears at the top. The bull is adorned with a carved chest ornament and collar. Behind him, red stone steps hold small stone lingams, brass pots, a brass vessel and offering bowls. A second orange-clad boy stands at right, and a third child in orange sits partly visible at the lower right, near brass containers. This appears to be an abhishekam offering to the Nandi statue.2017-07-31December 17 20162016-12-17December 16 20162016-12-16A photograph of a priest performing abhishekam on a large black stone Nandi bull statue seated on red stone steps.
