A night-time outdoor scene beneath a large banyan-type tree with hanging aerial roots and a wide trunk. In the foreground a man in white clothes holds a lit oil lamp or torch with an orange cloth. Beside him a man in white dhoti and shirt stands, and a figure in orange-saffron robes with long dark hair, possibly a person given the saffron robes and long swept-back hair, extends an arm toward the trunk. Small white objects, possibly offerings, are stuck to the bark, and a smoky haze fills the dim sandy clearing.

The swami's identity cannot be determined from appearance here, so the figure is described by role as a priest.2006-12-25Night scene beneath a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots.
